RedactPDF lets you permanently black out sensitive information from PDF documents — directly in your browser. No account required, no subscription, no file uploads.
When you open a PDF, it is loaded entirely within your browser using open source libraries. When you draw redaction boxes and click download, each page is rasterized to an image with your redactions painted directly onto it, then rebuilt into a new PDF. The original text data is permanently destroyed — not just covered up.
Your file is never sent to any server. We have no servers. There is nothing to send it to.
Adobe Acrobat charges $20–$30 per month for redaction. Most free alternatives either upload your file to their servers or apply redactions that can be trivially reversed by removing a layer. We think true, private redaction should be free and accessible to everyone.
